The squid game has become a global phenomenon whose reception has surprised even its own creator, who is seeing how a story he started writing 10 years ago has climbed to be Netflix's most successful series in just half a month.
Its impact, in addition to a profit of almost 800 million euros (after having an investment that did not reach 20 million), is seen in the fever that has unleashed on people through all kinds of ways.
Fans who dress up as the "soldiers" of the series with one of the 3 geometric figures; a hotel that organizes its own version of the game with 500 people; followers who send money and make thousands of calls to the bank account and phone, respectively, that appear in the production; children who play their games with their friends... In the last few days we have seen a new sample of the scope of the squid game and its overwhelming presence in reality, with the appearance of cards such as those shown in the series, with the circle, the triangle and the square, which in the production serve for the characters to call and be admitted as participants in the game.
The National Police has admitted their existence on their social networks and has shown that they have a QR code in the back. "this specific QR code, when scanned, takes us to a commercial portal without any danger in terms of security," reassures the institution.
However, it recommends that those who encounter any of these QR code cards (or in any other case where a QR code of unknown origin is seen) ignore them.
