They reveal what some brands really do to avoid hiring 'curvy' models

Karoline Bjornelykke is a Norwegian model who wears size 40 and has revealed one of the secrets used by some brands in the fashion industry.

The Nordic model has stated that some clothing brands are characterized by unethical practices. Instead of hiring 'curvy' models for sizes XXL and up, what they do is hire models like her and perform a series of tricks to make them look like overweight women.

Bjornelykke denounces that these brands add padding under the clothes so that the model appears overweight and can wear a large size.

"They want really thin and tapered necks and faces"

The model says that many of the models you see in catalogs or magazines are not 'curvy' models. Karoline Bjornelykke acknowledges that in her case, with a size 40, she is hired to wear large sizes.

"As you can see, I'm not that size. So, how do they solve the problem? Well, wearing padding to work," says the Norwegian model.

She confesses that she has worked with brands in which they thicken it with foam rubber and thus the clothes are tighter. The key to Bjornelykke is that these brands do it "because they want the neck and face to look really thin and tapered."

Karolyne Bjornelykke is a model who suffered from anorexia. After several years, she has managed to overcome it and has a very normal weight, but for some brands it is 'only' worth it to make a 'curvy' model with padding.
