MEXICO CITY.- Most think that changing their lifestyle and eating a healthy diet such as vegan could be very expensive and elitist, however, the reality is different because the products they consume are usually very accessible.
Veganism goes beyond foods such as seeds, legumes, seasonal fruits and vegetables; people who decide to lead this lifestyle seek to consume products free of animal cruelty, for example, they do not use any cosmetic items, clothing, soap, etc. that comes from animals.
But how much does it cost to be vegan in Mexico? Jessica González Castro, spokeswoman in Mexico for Million Dollar Vegan, told Dinero en Imagen that it is cheap because products such as beans, seeds, seasonal fruits and vegetables are very accessible.
To change the perspective that being vegan is expensive and elitist, Million Dollar Vegan together with Samantha Robertos, a nutritionist, created a weekly menu so that people realize they can eat healthy, without the need for animal products, for less of 100 pesos.
"There are more and more options of Mexican vegan brands at good prices that are even cheaper than the others, the market is growing and therefore the prices are more competitive," mentions the Million Dollar Vegan blog.
Of course, if you plan to enter veganism, the food groups that Jessica González Castro recommends start with whole grains, vegetable milk, nuts, seeds and green leaves.
Changing your lifestyle and eating a healthy diet such as vegan can be economical and, therefore, it would represent savings for your pocket, since not only food is cheaper but also personal hygiene products, clothing, cosmetics etc. They have low costs.
Finally, the spokesperson in Mexico for Million Dollar Vegan considered that the future will be vegan. Our country ranks first in Latin America with the most vegans.
