MEXICO.- This last Thursday, September 3, the Senate unanimously approved, a reform of the General Health Law that prohibits the use of animals in cosmetic products tests in Mexico.
The decree approved by the president of the Senate, Olga Sánchez Cordero, details that the reform establishes that cosmetic research may not include evidence in animals of cosmetic ingredients, of cosmetic products ended or of their ingredients or the mixture of them.
Nor can it be manufactured, import or market cosmetic products when in its final formulation medien or have mediated tests in animals.
This new law has generated joy in hundreds of people fighting for animals law.However, in Mexico and several parts of the world, the tests of beauty and hygiene products in animals had already become a cause to which many had joined.
Let us remember when a video entitled "Save Ralph" was viral, released by the Humane Society International organization, with the intention of raising awareness about the testing of cosmetic products in animals.Since that dissemination of the clip, many have been interested in knowing what brands do tests in animals.
While a large number of beauty and cosmetics brands test their products in these living beings to know the side effects that could affect humans, there are also many firms that create free products of animal cruelty.

According to the Bunko portal, beauty companies and hygiene products perform tests in animals to have data they can use in their defense if any consumer demands, but it is important to mention that this practice is not regulated by the FDA.
While in China, it is required that cosmetics companies must perform their tests in animals if they want their products to be sold.The Asian country considers that the death and suffering of animals is a price that must be paid if you want to "guarantee" market expansion.

Animal cruelty that has been demonstrated with these tests has generated more brands to eliminate the testing of their products in these living beings, and create products known as "vegan" or cruelty free.
Currently, Peta has published lists of approved brands such as Cruelty Free or Veganas.
There are also several organizations that provide this seal (Cruelty Free), which is granted only to products that prove not to use animals in their manufacturing processes.
