In May 1886, Dr. John Pemberton sold the first glass of Coca-Cola in Atlanta. The company manages close to half of the soft drink business in Argentina and, of course, is the leader in the cola segment, which moves more than $160.6 billion in the local market and has a 60% share in the carbonated.
Although the American firm keeps the recipe for happiness under (more than) seven keys, several companies began to copy its dark syrup based on vegetable and citrus extracts. In the country, many tried to ride the wave and, little by little, the second brands were gaining ground due to their cheap prices. Currently, it is estimated that they have almost a third of sales.
Within this subgroup, Manaus stands out, produced by Refresh Now, although there are also other important players in the beverage business, such as Cunnington and Secco. And for the nostalgic, Bidú was recently relaunched, the first Argentine cola soft drink.
