The vaccination process against COVID-19 has come a long way in many countries around the world, but some of them continue to encounter strong resistance in some of its most emblematic faces. The last to join this list has been the Cuban rapper Ice Cube, who has lost a contract of 9 million dollars (about 7.8 million euros) for refusing to receive the vaccine.
The situation is the following. The artist was going to be part of the cast of the movie 'Oh Hell No', but one of the conditions that have been imposed -in favor of the safety and well-being of all the members of the team- was to have been vaccinated and/or be vaccinated before joining the team. The film, as 'TMZ' has pointed out, would have had the participation of Ice Cube under normal circumstances.
However, his refusal to be vaccinated would have left him out of the project. As they have pointed out, Ice Cube signed the project, from Sony Pictures, back in June 2021. In theory, although this information has not been confirmed by either the studio or the rapper, they would have asked all the actors to receive the vaccine against the COVID-19.
Ice Cube, in this context, would not have agreed to be vaccinated, thus losing the contract. For its part, the producer would have set to work to find a substitute. It is curious, everything must be said, since the Cuban was very involved in the fight against the virus, donating more than 2,000 masks and raising funds for the cause.
In fact, in June 2020, the rapper requested, through his official Twitter account, "that the world's doctors had to stop lying about the coronavirus." Be that as it may, Ice Cube has preferred not to make any statement after his departure from the film. The producer has not said anything about it either.
As the medium 'The Hollywood Reporter' learned, the rapper did not want to be vaccinated and preferred to reject the job offer. On the mandatory nature of the vaccine, there are those who have been against it, but the producers can include said clause in the team's contracts if they consider it appropriate. That is, they can require cast and crew members to have been vaccinated or vaccinated before joining their project.
