Vinokilo, the company that organizes the largest vintage clothing fair in Europe for sale by weight, arrives this weekend in Jerez de la Frontera, from this Friday, January 28 to Sunday, January 30, where the customer will pay what their purchase weighs .
The German firm will set up a huge flea market on Pajarete street with tons of clothing, accessories, items from well-known and not so renowned brands, from the 1960s to the present.
It is a German company created in 2016 by Robin Balser in the city of Mainz with the 'pop up' style, that is, fleeting stores that open short-term sales spaces. In the first edition, in addition to buying clothes, they enjoyed music and local wine. During this time, it has established itself as the largest market for the sale of vintage clothing by the kilo in Europe, with 600 events in more than 100 cities.
Vinokilo brings huge amounts of clothing and accessories that will be available during the three days of the event, so we will have the opportunity to choose from a wide variety of garments of different sizes (from XXS to Plus), from various collections ( from the 60s to the 2000s) and well-known brands (Adidas, Lacoste, Levi's, Burberry, Armani, Calvin Klein...). In Jerez, there will also be unique and exclusive accessories such as leather bags, scarves, belts and more.
In this market you pay for what the purchase weighs. There is a stipulated price per kilo which, on the first day of Friday, will be 50 euros per kilo, 45 euros on Saturday and 40 euros on Sunday. From the organization they point out that, for example, for a kilo you could take "a pair of jeans, a crazy shirt and a bomber jacket".
Second-hand or vintage clothing does not mean that it is deteriorated or of poor quality. From Vinokilo they remember that "each of the garments that arrives at the warehouses is carefully selected by a team that assesses its condition, cleans it and repairs any defect it may have by hand."
This type of garment also generates low environmental consumption, as it represents a responsible gesture and support towards circular consumption in the fashion industry.
Admission is free but it is necessary to make a reservation online (Here is the link) since places are limited to a certain time slot, which goes from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. However, if there is availability, tickets will be offered at the door. The mandatory use of the mask is reminded. The location is at Calle Pajarete, 8, in Jerez de la Frontera.
