There's nothing worse than leaving home, ready for that social event you've been looking forward to for weeks, only to find that one of your heels has just come off. Well, at that point you will surely start thinking about other options, but you should not give up just yet, since you can fix a broken heel at home with these simple steps.
Just in case, always go out to that party wearing one pair of shoes and another spare, because logic indicates that, once in a meeting, you will be unable to repair those broken heels, at least until you arrive.
But if you are lucky enough to still be close to home, and to be able to try it, you should know that there are some not so well-known tricks, which are what make the difference between a successful heel repair, and a heel repair that does not last more than a few minutes, leaving you barefoot again.
The first thing is to demystify, once and for all, that the glue is enough in these cases. It is undoubtedly a help, but if you do not also take into account the nails that all heels bring, you can be sure that after a while they will come off again.
With that in mind, with the heel out, you will see that the nails that it includes, and that are the ones that allow it to be attached in the first instance, will have twisted in different directions. Then you have to go to the trouble of trying to straighten them, following the original rail corresponding to each one of them, putting them in the holes with little glue.
Once inside, and supporting the heel itself with a glue reinforcement, you must hit the heel against the ground with force or using tools such as a hammer, until you feel a certain firmness. The next thing will be to let it rest for a few minutes, until the glue dries.
Prevention also plays a fundamental role in these cases, and you can save yourself from occasional broken heels by wearing down the sole a little so that they have better traction, changing those plastic caps for more resistant rubber ones, or using insoles so that the foot no dance.
If you feel pain in the area, the product of a bad movement due to broken heels, it is better that you then consult a health professional. You could have hurt yourself without practically knowing it.
