Brixton has become one of the brands that is hitting the hardest with a practical recipe: classic-looking motorcycles, simple mechanics and reasonable prices.
But Brixton's plans are not limited to low and medium displacement motorcycles, but the project of the new Brixton 1200 is already very advanced and looks really good. A tough competitor for the Triumph Bonnevilles is on the way.
Those from Brixton are getting a good penetration in the market. They are making a niche thanks to their range based on 125 and 500 cc motorcycles to now bring a much more ambitious model.
We already knew that they were working on something big with a 1,200 cubic centimeter engine, but the first sketches have already come to light. Everything indicates that the 1,200 cc Brixton (with a name still unknown) is targeting the neo-retro segment that is becoming more and more nourished.
In reality, what we can see is a motorcycle that has the Triumph Bonneville in its sights, because there are a good dose of similarities starting with the old-school aesthetics, accessible approach and nods to British design.
A tank with sunken sides stands out, an almost flat one-piece seat and, above all, a two-cylinder engine that, despite being water-cooled, uses classic elements such as the fins or the double exhaust outlet in parallel.
For the cycle part we find a very conventional configuration with a telescopic fork with bellows, double rear shock absorber, spoked rims and double front disc with four-piston calipers with axial anchoring.
There are many details that reveal the Bonneville inspiration of this Brixton, such as the layout of the radiator, the injection body that appears to be carburettors or the way of hiding the catalytic converter for the double exhaust.
Seeing how elaborate these schemes are, it is likely that the production phase is already very close, possibly presenting the model this fall and arriving on the market in the first half of 2022. What is clear is that it will be a motorcycle with a similar cut but much more affordable than a Triumph Bonneville that starts at 11,100 euros for the T100.
